Mayan Archaeology & Culture

This package is designed for the traveler with a special interest in Mayan archaeology and ruins.  You will visit the great sites of Caracol in Belize and Tikal in Guatemala, as well as the lesser sites of Cahal Pech and Xunantunich.  The array of Mayan relics in Skeleton Cave and Bol’s Cave Museum will enhance your appreciation of the life of early Mayan families.  You will also be offered guided hikes to nearby Pacbitun, a partially excavated Mayan community which we believe extended to the site on which Mariposa Jungle Lodge is located.  Your guide will point out the remains of Mayan construction on our site, as well as the collection of Mayan artifacts found during construction.
